Telstra InContact plan for incoming calls only.
Telstra InContact service is $0.00 per month, but only allows outgoing calls to emergency numbers, Telstra, and Homelink 1800 services, and is subject to eligibility criteria. Recently, calls via the Telstra PhoneAway card (access number 18933) have become available from InContact services, so if qualify for InContact, you could have a $0.00 per month service, with local calls charged at 49c each via a Telstra PhoneAway card. Note that you cannot call 1800 or 13 numbers with a Telstra PhoneAway card. This is an option that is worth knowing about, but is probably too restrictive for most people. Some packages with free or reduced phone line rental have been advertised, however I am not aware of anything where the total cost of the package is less than the monthly line rental on Telstra Pre-Paid Home.
